My name is Stephen Astor. Like most of you I am a filmmaker. I studied at Hofstra University and I'm an Analog enthusiast. I have most of my major credits as a Production Designer or a Producer. But I love getting behind the camera and shooting on film. I currently operate a Bolex Rex 5. And I've shot over 10,000 feet of 16mm film over the last 4 years.My first loves are writing and directing but I love being on set in the camera and art department. I've had recent success in the wardrobe department, but I'm looking to hone in on the camera department as an AC or a Loader. My special skills an experience is shooting on film. My senior thesis capstone, Mommy, has garnered over a million views on YouTube and it was shot on 16mm. Proving to me that people seek out the aesthetic that film provides. I'm looking to work consistently in the industry and hopefully join the union. I love working on short films, commercial work, but my true love is narrative work. I love the process of making stories come to life. It is the single most fulfilling thing I do for other people.
