Description
Suree Towfighnia is a social practice filmmaker and educator originally from Chicago, IL. With her company Prairie Dust Films, she creates work that centers environmental justice and human rights issues to expand narratives, inform policy, and support historically misrepresented communities. Suree is a freelance cinematographer, producer, and director for nonprofits and independent documentaries, commercials, and museum pieces.

Cameras- Director of Photography and Camera Operator (specializing in handheld, observational, documentary interview, and studio work)
4K- Canon C300, Sony FS 5/7, and others (adaptable to all 4K cameras and lenses)
Experience with 16mm film cameras, HD, all digital formats.
Sound-
Double system and direct to camera mics, mixers, sync sound.
Lighting- experience with lighting for interviews, naturalistic and evocative mood.
Directing- interviewing, action, story, and crew.
Producing- independent and commercial projects from low budget to mid-range (400k), experience with all logistics, budget, schedule, hiring, legal and releases, insurance, all things producer.
Spanish speaker (non-native, near fluent)
Editing- excellent post organizing and workflow, proficient in editing software (Premiere, Avid, Davinci, FCP, Audition), delivers to tech specs and on deadline.
Experience with protocols and practices in Indigenous and migrant communities, ethics, authenticity, reciprocity, IRB approval.
